Panel Data Modeling in Stata LIVE Course

RESEARCH HUB  BLOCK COURSE ON PANEL DATA MODELING

      ONLINE(LIVE), September 19-23, 2022

RESEARCH HUB organizes 5-days long PANEL DATA MODELING block course during September 19-23, 2022. The course will be taught LIVE using the video conferencing software ZOOM. Each day will consist of 03 hours of lecture. Lectures with start at everyday at 1500 until 1800 (CET – Central Europe Time, GMT+2).

      COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course presents panel data estimation techniques and their applications in STATA.  The course is organized into five modules covered over 5 days.

      • Module 1 introduces panel data, particularly how panel data structure looks like and the basic panel data model.
      • Module 2 demonstrates how to import excel data in STATA, declare your data as panel in STATA, test whether panel data modeling is really needed for your data, and how to keep track of your activities in STATA.
      • Module 3 presents basic (static) panel data models including the famous random and fixed effects model and how to determine which of the two models is appropriate for your data.
      • Module 4 presents advanced (dynamic) panel data models based on generalized method of moments (GMM) – often used to mitigate endogeneity concerns.
      • Module 5 concludes the course with a summary of learning outcomes, ways to export STATA output to MS Word and some useful references for panel data analysis. In each module there is an exercise to test your understanding of the topics covered.
