COURSE DESCRIPTION
This on demand online course presents forecasting concepts, methods and applications using Microsoft Excel. Despite availability of sophisticated software, Excel is still one of the most used by industry and practitioners when it comes to forecasting. The course is organized into four modules.
- Module 1 introduces key concepts in forecasting.
- Module 2 demonstrates data setup and simple forecasting methods.
- Module 3 shows applications of exponential smoothing forecasting.
- Module 4 covers regression methods for forecasting.
At the end of each module there is an MCQ exercise to test your understanding of the topics covered.
INSTRUCTOR PROFILE
Ziaul Haque Munim is Associate Professor of Maritime Logistics at the Faculty of Technology, Natural and Maritime Sciences at the University of South-Eastern Norway. His main research interests include maritime logistics, supply chain management, forecasting and research methods. He holds a PhD degree in International Management from the University of Agder and MSc degree in Supply Chain Management from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He has extensive traning in Structural Equation Modeling from the University of Oslo and University of Cambridge. Further, he has a diploma in Global Transport Challenges from the University of Oxford. His publications have appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Business Research, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Resources, Conservation & Recycling, Journal of Cleaner Production and others. He received the Palgrave Macmillan Best Paper Award at the IAME 2016 in Hamburg and the KLU Young Researcher Best Paper Award at the IAME 2018 in Mombasa. Follow his research on researchgate.
